Becoming was dead. Being had begun

I was surprised at my relief. My home was shattered, my neighbours burning, my brother was dead, and my mother was broken.

Yet I felt relief and had thanked my creator, because my children had been spared. They were safe. For the moment.

“I’m Jesus’ Sower. And I’m tried.”

The effort to speak was too much for him, and he felt tired and weak.

As darkness descended on him again, he heard the nurse ushering his family out of his hospital room. He let the darkness take him again.

A variety of new stories in the pipeline.

"Year after year, the fern flourished, and the bamboo just lay hidden beneath the soil, wanting simply to be forgotten. But I did not forget it, and I would not quit on it.”

"Then one fine morning, a tiny bamboo sprout peeked shyly out of the earth. Compared to the fern, it was so small and insignificant, so unsure of itself.”

"People have the choice," Rosh smiled, "but not a right, to commit suicide, and therefore the State does not have to protect it. Suicide is legal only so that the victim is not punished (to protect life)."

"However, I agree that it is important that suffering should not be prolonged unnecessarily."
